Susan Crowley
Assistant Vice President
Susan Crowley serves as the Assistant Vice President for Community Relations. She is responsible for overseeing
the relationship between the community and the University, and facilitating efforts to promote communication and
mutually beneficial relationships between the two.
She began her career at UF in May 2007 and brings many years of service in the nonprofit arena to her position. She served as the Executive Vice President of the Alachua County Medical Society for 11 years. There she interfaced with physicians, hospitals, the Alachua County Health Department, and emergency services. In addition, she led the lobbying efforts of the ACMS in Tallahassee.
She served as the president of the Conference of Florida Medical Society Executives and on the Board of Governors of the Florida Medical Association.
Prior to 1996, Susan spent three years as the Executive Director of the North Central Florida Safety Council - involved with the business community, the court system, and law enforcement.
Susan has been actively involved in service and charitable organizations in Gainesville since the late 1970s. She is a member or the Junior League of Gainesville and the Gainesville Women's Forum, having served as president of both organizations. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Gainesville. There she co-chaired the building of a Habitat House. She used that experience in her work with the Alachua County Medical Society when she brought the ACMS and the local bar association together to build a second house.
A graduate of the University of Florida, Susan is widowed and is the mother of three children: Matt, Erin, and Catherine.
