Kristen Bartlett Grace
Senior photographer, UF News Bureau
Kristen Bartlett graduated from the University of Florida in December 2003 with a degree in journalism with a photojournalism emphasis and an outside concentration in art history. While at UF, she was a member of the Florida FlyIns international journalism class, traveling to Brazil under the guidance of Pulitzer Prize winning professor John Kaplan. She was also a staff photographer for the Alligator student newspaper. While at UF, she won second place in the overall photo story round of the William Randolph Hearst Journalism Awards program. After graduation, she completed a six-month internship as a photographer for the Naples Daily News in Naples, Fla. She then returned to UF to begin working for the News Bureau.
She has been published in the Orlando Sentinel, The El Sentinel, The Gainesville Sun, The Naples Daily News, The Bonita Banner, USA Today, St. Petersburg Times, Discovery Channel Online and National Geographic Online. She is a member of the University Press Photographers Association and has received several awards from the organization. She is also a professional member of the National Press Photographers Association.
