Al Kirby
Web Professional/Graphics/Designer
Al Kirby is a professional web designer and branding expert with more than fourteen years graphics and web design experience. A Florida native, Kirby graduated from University of Florida's College of Fine Arts with his degree in Graphic Design. Kirby was one of the only students to learn both the technological side and structural side of his degree, choosing to use both computers and hand layouts for projects, giving him a unique edge.
Post graduation Kirby was recruited to work for Digi-Net Technology designing custom web application UI's right out of college. He continued to work at the company for five years before transferring over to his alma mater University of Florida. There Kirby worked with UF's Web Administration Department for eight years. During that time he kept close control of each facet of the UF website, as well as designing sites for different departments, and keeping everyone up-to-date on the latest trends on the internet and in technology.
Not satisfied with just web administration, Kirby transfered over to the University Relations department where his talents were more useful. There he continues to maintain all of the UREL sites, as well as design each of the University's "Spotlights" profiling different difference makers around the campus. During this time Kirby continues to educate himself on the newest of trends on the web like the now booming social media sites. As well as created a collaborative design collective known as UF Creative Design Group (CDG).
When not working at UF, Kirby stays busy running his own successful design studio ProRanK Studios with partner Jeremy Rimer. The two design high end websites and have created their own custom management system (or CMS) known as ©CAMO. He also has a personal portfolio site running called OMTC (On My Titanium Computer).
Kirby is also an Adjunct Instructor for the College of Journalism teaching MMC 3260 - Communications on the Internet.
