The Public Relations department of University Relations is responsible for identifying and implementing strategic methods and procedures to enhance the image of the university. Included in these efforts is the creation of feature news stories or "Florida Features" for national, state and local media, as well as facilitation of media and communications training for administrators and professional communicators of all 16 colleges and numerous campus units.
Public Relations also oversees various university publications and multimedia materials, including serving as editor of Inside UF and the electronic e-newsletter, Inside The Gator Nation. Other responsibilities include coordinating economic impact studies and implementing miscellaneous communications and special event projects, such as the annual Golden Gator Awards and Annual Retreat for more than 300 campus communicators.
