The Public Relations department of University Relations is responsible for strategically promoting the university through multiple communication channels and special event programs. Major responsibilities include:
- Identifying and refining the university's key messages and overseeing message integration within various electronic and print materials such as the UF Web site, brochures and advertisements;
- Serving as managing editor of UF's homepage and biweekly print news, InsideUF, and the e-newsletter, Inside The Gator Nation, for students, parents, faculty, staff, alumni and community leaders;
- Directing special events and projects including creation of an online campus video tour (YOUniversityTV.com), coordination with Seventeen magazine for a student feature series (2008-'09), promotion of research/academics at the 2007 BCS National Championship and 2008 Capital One Bowl, and coordination of a study on UF's economic impact on the state;
- Facilitating communications coaching for campus administrators and professional communicators;
- Coordinating the annual Golden Gator Awards and Annual Retreat for more than 300 campus communicators.
