Gator 1 ID card services

A Graphics & Photography Gator 1 and UF Badge Authorization Form must be filled out completely prior to having a photograph taken. The form is available online in pdf format for Adobe Reader. Simply fill out the form online and print to your printer.

What is the Gator 1 Card and Who Needs One?

The Gator 1 Card is the official University of Florida picture ID card. It is required of all students, faculty, and staff. Many activities on campus are only available upon presentation of the Gator 1 Card.

Student

Payment of $15.00 Cash, Check, Credit or Debit Cards accepted.

Staff or Faculty

Ask the department secretary or Office Manager to complete the ID Card Authorization form. Completed forms must have a customer code # or p-card checked (not both), or write "Employee will pay". The department should fax the form to 392-4156. Call for an appt. 273-5044.Bring a picture ID to BMS office to receive your Gator 1 ID Card.

How Do I Get the Wachovia ATM card access?

Wachovia Bank is the exclusive Gator 1 Card partner with the University of Florida.  A Wachovia Bank checking or savings account is necessary for your Gator 1 Card to be used as an ATM card at any Wachovia ATM with no fee.  Wachovia Bank has a full service financial center and two ATM's located on the ground floor of Reitz Union. An additional ATM is located at the HUB in the center of campus.  Wachovia checking and savings accounts can be opened at any Wachovia Financial Center, on-line at Wachovia.com or by calling 1-800-275-3862.  Once you receive your Gator 1 Card you should take it to your nearest Wachovia Financial Center for activation as an ATM card.  If you don't already have a Wachovia checking or savings account just show your Gator 1 Card and say you want to open a free student checking account.  For more information go here.

How Do I Take Care of the Gator 1 Card?

What Do I Do if I Lose My Gator 1 Card?

If you lose your card, the easiest thing to do is to deactivate it immediately online at our secure website at www.gator1.ufl.edu.

Another option is to call (352) 392-UFID (8343) to report the loss of your Gator 1 Card. After hours, leave a message on the answering machine. Once a card is reported as lost and is deactivated, it can never be reactivated and must be replaced. The replacement fee is $15. You will need to contact Gator Dining Services at (352) 392-2491 to deactivate declining balance or meal accounts. If you have linked banking to your Gator 1 Card, also contact Wachovia by calling 1-800-275-3862 to report your card lost or stolen.

How Do I Get a Spouse Card?

Student Spouse
Spouse should call BMS office (273-5044), for appt. Spouse will need photo ID (driver's license, military ID or passport), student's Gator 1 Card, and marriage certificate. The cost is $15.00.

Staff or Faculty Spouse
Spouse should call BMS (273-5044) for appt. Will need photo ID (driver's license, military ID or passport), and employee's Gator 1 Card. If surnames are not the same, a copy of the marriage certificate is required. The cost is $15.00.

Shands' Spouse
Spouses of Shands Hospital employees must obtain a Gator 1 Card Authorization form from the Employee Resource Center (ERC) located on the first floor of Shands, in the corridor behind the clinics. They should bring the filled-out form, a photo ID, and their Social Security card to BMS. Cost is $15.

How Do I Get the Card for Distance Learning Programs?

Gator 1 ID cards are available for HSC students and staff/faculty of remote departments and distance learning programs of the University of Florida. A departmental memo authorizing this service must accompany a jpeg image of the individual requesting a Gator 1 Card.

Items that obscure any physical features are not permitted in the photo. These include but are not limited to: hats, scarves, sunglasses, bandanas, sweatbands, and golf visors.

Head coverings worn for religious reasons, such as Muslim headdress, are acceptable.

If digital (electronic) format pictures are available of requestor(s), please contact BMS (352-273-5044) to get the address to which the pictures may be electronically transferred. Digital images may also be sent via e-mail or floppy disk.  JPEG image format is preferred.
