Sea Grant and the Oil spill:
FSG and UF Extension provided efficient outreach to coastal residents, businesses and communities. They helped owners file claims and provided support for volunteers. In addition, FSG is working with Gulf of Mexico Land Grant Universities to ensure safety of seafood as well as lending hands to families facing economic crisis due to the oil spill.
Subtropical Agriculture Research Station, Brooksville:
This facility is one of the Research and Demonstration Sites, strategically located close to a major commodity production region. The RDSs enable IFAS researchers to quickly respond to the agricultural and natural resource needs in Florida.
Camp Cherry Lake 4-H Center, Madison:
This facility is one of Florida's four UF/IFAS 4-H facilities open year round and may be reserved by 4-H groups and other organizations for meetings, retreats and field trips.
